Windshield Cracked - O.C. Shop Recommendation

Took a hit on I5. Windshield is cracked. Will need to be replaced. A shop recommendation would be greatly appreciated. I reside in OC. Thanks!

Insurance. My glass deductible is $0. Just make sure you get BMW glass (whomever they use) and not generic glass. Every generic windshield I had installed was flawed; usually around the perimeter. One was so bad it gave me a headache!

resurrecting an old post. had bad experiences with glass going through my insurance company. all the glass you'll get will be flawed, fyi. depending on the company you select you may be able to pay out of pocket, extra, for better glass.

was your glass every replaced and how did it come out?

I've gone here for two cars. They told my insurance company that I need the OEM windshield even though it wasn't covered. I just paid deductible.

Safelite should have the correct glass; though you WILL have to specify OEM.

What programming needs to be done for the HUD? I understand the glass may be different than non-HUD, but programming?

Yeah, I don't know the details. Something needs to be one related to the HUD and because I have the driver assistance package so a lot of the alerts + cameras/sensors.

Weird... When I had my windshield tinted (I went with the lightest; wifey is very sensitive to the sun) I asked the guy if it would affect the HUD. He said it wouldn't and he was correct; no effect at all.

I don't think Tint would affect it. I'm not sure if it's the same concept if you are replacing the entire windshield, because there is possibly some calibration.

I just wish I could change the orientation of the reflector so I could wear polarized sunglasses!
