Exclamation NEVER EVER Buy Chemical Guys Leather Quick Detailer...Ever.

As soon as I put a small amount of Chemical Guys Interior Quick Detailer Leather Cleaner on my 14’ 535i Modern Line with Optional Multi-Contour Leather Comfort Seats, the headrest began to be eaten away by the product, resulting in material failure which now I can no longer use my headrest without fearing glue and leather particles will get into my hair and on my clothes.

Calling the company to see what they’ll do, not impressed.

Never buy this product, very surprised.

Note: this was the only product used on my seats, for the first time. I used a small amount on this product and put it on with a brand-new microfiber towel.

Send a picture of the product, I think I'm using the same stuff and never had an issue. Actually works pretty good

Could your bottle have been contaminated at the source? Looks like it may contain some sort of solvent. In any case, very odd and I'm very interested to see CG's response.

I'd reach out to them. sorry to hear about your issue. never had any issues with my CG leather cleaner and conditioner on my seats for the last 3 years. I don't know about this new quick detailer tho. what were product were you using before? i'm wondering if there was some type of chemical reaction with each other?

To be honest, the title should just be "Never buy chemical guys".

Ouch. I stick with Lexol cleaner and conditioner. Smells good and always finishes nice.

Have not had an issue with CG products. In fact, the picture looks more like it uncovered damage that was already there. That's what some of my leather looks like where it is worn down from the kids feet constantly rubbing against it. Could someone have poorly dyed it previously and it was uncovered? Was the car new when you bought it? Just curious.

Did you also put the chemical on your seat and didn’t have a problem? Just your headrest?

Looks like a chemical reaction to something that was only on headrest.....I bet someone had put their hand/dirty rag on the headrest at some point in time and contaminated the leather. Brake cleaner, solvent, caustic, bleach, peroxide, oxiclean...something is reacting with the leather treatment and burning the cellulose/leather.
