2012 520D SE F11 Rear Shock Absorbers
HI there,
this is my first post, I'm based in the UK and have just purchased a 2012 520d SE at auction, for personal use. the rear air suspension has sagged which I am working on, having taken great advantage of the past threads and information on this forum. During he strip down I have noticed the rear shock bump stops have disintegrated, the shocks look like the originals. With most of the car dealers shutting in the UK, can anyone advise what brand bump stops and dust hats would be suitable, just in case I can source any off eBay. Also, has anyone changed their shocks on an SE and would the original factory items be best or can anyone recommend a good aftermarket brand. My shocks might be fine, the car has covered 84,000 miles. Any help, advice and recommendations would be gladly received. Thank you, Sean from Lichfield in Staffordshire, UK. |

For my 2011 F11 I bought and fitted Sachs 900 337 bump stops at about 60k.
https://m.autodoc.co.uk/sachs/7884574 You need to look at Sachs catalogue, as I think SE will require a different part number. At the same time I fitted Sach shocks (same PN for SE and M Sport) as NSR was shot after an airspring failure. https://m.autodoc.co.uk/sachs/7012932 Now at 92k, I'll be replacing with Bilstein B4 shocks (I paid £75) soon to match the Front B4's I got fitted at the front at Christmas. All after market rear shocks don't seem to be specific to M Sport or SE, but Fronts are. https://m.autodoc.co.uk/bilstein/633929 Last edited by Matthewricha; 08-09-2020 at 03:32 AM.. |
