Axle-back- 2015 550i x-Drive M-sport F10
So, I've narrowed my research down to 3 choices. I can't find a cat-back for less than 3-4k+ (not wanting to spend $3-4k+ for one, so axle-back it is). Also, not wanting to spend more than 2k for an axle-back set-up, since it's basically just a muffler with tips.
The 3 choices being considered, which should I go with?: 1) Megan Supremo- I was told by a guy I spoke to on the phone when calling Megan, most go with the 535i version and it's easily modified to fit my 550i. Cost= ~$800 new. 2) A local guy selling a Dinan Axle-back for the 550i that came off his 550i. Cost=$1,300 used. 3) Active Autowerks axle-back for 550i. Cost= $1,500 new. I have also looked at getting a used M5 muffler set, but they are hard to find. Plus, the ones I did find are too far away and shipping wouldn't be worth it + I would need to buy an M5 diffuser to replace my 550i M-sport diffuser. Which should I go with? Or, is there another option I'm not finding considering the aforementioned? |

I have a custom one-off SOUL Performance catback for sale. Catback makes a huge difference. We can work something out if youre interested possibly.

Perhaps, depending on the details. I'm curious how the 3inch exhaust will work with my 550i? Send me some details, photos and a price and maybe we can work it out. I would imagine shipping might be a lot since I'm in Oregon.

It's on the quieter side. If you don't want too aggressive/noisy it is a great set up. I'm sure coupled with a downpipe or if you take out the resonator it's way louder. Since I'm in my late forties, it's perfect for me. I didn't want to sound like all the kids going up and down our street with their modded Subaru's anyway...lol

As for your question, did I get a rear exhaust, I'm not sure if that question was meant for me, but as mentioned above, I went with the Active Autowerks axle-back exhaust. |

New 550i M-Sport owner here. I am interested in the Active Autowerke axle back as well and I was hoping you could answer a few questions I have?
Do the pipes stick out a lot with the stock lower rear bumper? Did you notice any drone on the freeway? Can't wait to see the powdercoated tips. |

Thanks for description of the exhaust. Based in your experience, it sounds exactly like what I was hoping to find. And those tips don't stick out too far at all.
I really like the look of the powder-coating, it goes really well with the total back end. |
