Honestly I don't know. I don't think it would even work without the blue. Single stage ones have the blue connector as well.

Yeah... I didn't remember what my single-stage looked like, but I did find a pic from when I did the swap:

Happy to report that my new airbag just shipped and should be here Monday......also happy to report that my remote coder actually was able to code the airbag again as dual stage but without the vent plug. Air bag light went away and now i'm up and fully running.
All in all I am loving my new steering wheel. Matched with the 6wb cluster, the car has been transformed. Now just waiting on the front and back M sport bumpers to arrive and continue with the project.

Nope. It was coded still as dual stage but without the vent plug (3rd blue connector.) I don't know the exact line of code that was edited but the light is now off and all is well.

I still have the correct airbag coming in. Nothing wrong with an extra
