Creaking sound from front suspension/axle
Hi everyone, I've been hearing a creaking sound from my front end and trying to figure out what it might be. The car was recently in for the oil pan gasket change and they said all bushing and such look good.
The sound it's only heard on small bumps where both wheels would dip, also on speed humps going at very slow speeds. Not heard in any other situation. Any input is greatly appreciated! P.S: I've read the forums on this topic but wondering if there is anything new related to this. |

from the description, sounds like it could be a ball joint.. get under there and see if any of the boots are cracked and/or leaking grease, sometimes a small tear in the boot can get that grease out and get some road grime in there

Your description that it's only when both wheels are affected at the same time suggests to me that you check your front sway bar bushings and mounts (not the end links, the mounts which attach the bar to the subframe).
Maybe it's not torqued right. Maybe there's a grease/rubber problem or contamination. Maybe they forgot to tighten them altogether. |

Sorry to keep beating a dead horse here, but I might be finally getting close to figuring out what the noises are.
Today I was pulling in my garage with my window open and while I was pressing the breaks I heard that creaking noise I mentioned in the original post. Can anyone point me in the right direction on what this can be? Also, I believe some of my door panel clips are rattling, which drives me nuts. I've seen on YouTube this guy wrapping his clips in electrical tape, has anyone done this? Are there other ways to make them quiet? Thank you everyone! I really hope I can fix these noises. |

Even if it only happens when the brakes are pressed?

I do not and my rotors were resurfaced last year along with new brake pads. This is why I'm thinking it would fall under the brake job warranty.

At the dealership now, they are saying everything is very dry in there so they are going to lubricate what is necessary. Hopefully that will fix the noise

Update on the creaking noise. It's gone now! The dealership removed the front calipers and greased the slides, pads and calipers. Going to try how to do that myself next time.
The door rattle will be tackled this weekend with electrical tape unless anyone has other ideas. Will keep everyone posted. |

I can't see it being anything other than caliper. Could be the retaining spring creaking against the caliper. Why not have a helper work the pedal while you get your head and maybe a finger to feel for the vibration near the caliper. Lightly grease where the retaining spring contacts the metal of the caliper to see if that quiets it. EDIT: looks fixed. |

After 2 hours of work on the door panel, removing all clips and wrapping them in electrical tape the issue has not been fixed. Very frustrating and I'm not sure what else I could try. Attaching pictures of what I did.

I may have tracked the door rattle and it appears to be coming from the window since once I lower it slightly the rattle disappears. Has anyone had this happen? Is there a fix for it?
