The track PA announcer had announced, incorrectly, that Hamilton was at fault before the stewards had given their decision.

I don't buy that excuse. There are big screen televisions lining the track at every F1 race.

It was reported as such by Sky Sports, who are unequivocally pro-Hamilton. If it wasn't true, they would have run with the "racist" slant in their reporting.

Both drivers can be pricks. No doubt about that. But one is also a 3x WDC and considered one of the best drivers in the world, while the other is simply a good driver currently in the best car. I feel like you could replace ROS with any number of other drivers currently on the grid and get the same contribution to the constructors championship. ROS is Jenson Button just without the championship.

It was definitely racism when Schumacher was booed at the same track for over passing Rubens right at the line all those years back.

C'mon man, leave this crap out of these threads.

100% Rosberg's fault. The NBCSN commentators were calling it before the incident and I was thinking to myself that no one in this day and age would be daring or dumb enough to do that (especially with so many races left in the season) and Rosberg goes ahead and proves me wrong -- I was quite surprised but glad Rosberg took the brunt of the collision.

Here is why many of us watching the sport recognize Hamilton for his driving ability but dislike him as a person - - - and it has nothing to do with race:

Why is HAM destroying a room to vent frustration reason to dislike him? He made a stupid mistake during qualifying. He didn't blame anyone. He needed to vent so he did so in a private setting.

WTF is Lauda thinking by making that public?

Then there's this...

http://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/la...d-room-796051/

Lauda denying he meant what was implied by his interview quotes.

In conclusion, I don't know WTF is going on.

Lauda denying that now. But lets say it is true, who cares? You don't listen to music, have a favorite band or musician. How many bands/musicians in the hall of fame have completely destroyed hotel rooms? Too many to count.

I see the comments on the various F1 sites. Some are just blatantly racist. Some have a racist connotation, whether they don't like the way he dresses or his gold chain or he is a fake rapper wannabe. He gets hated on for his lifestyle off the track. But someone like James Hunt who had an even more playboy lifestyle, he gets celebrated. How about young Kimi, he was a complete drunk off the track. Remember the video of drunk Kimi in Monaco, imagine if that was Lewis. Lewis also gets labeled as a diva or complainer, but just about the entire grid is a diva besides maybe Ricciardo and Bottas. It is double standard and I honestly believe the situation would be different is he was white.

Every person who rises up into the global celebrity spotlight is going to have their every move scrutinized. The focus on Hamilton is because he is the world champion. If he was in Alonso's shoes at Mclaren people wouldn't care much about what he was doing. There's also a historic model drivers are still compared to: laconic, fearless, take-charge ubermales. Behaving against type when you're the reigning champion will bring out the haters because you're not fitting their expectations.
