F1O Drivetrain warning / error message

Hi guys,
3 times over the past month this worrying message has shown up on my idrive. It comes on and off again within a few seconds.

"Drivetrain
Possible to conintue journey
Full performance not available
have the problem checked by your service partner"

Has anyone experiecned this or know if its a common issue?
2014 F10 520d - Now out of warrenty so worried this could be a pricey issue...

I had exactly the same symptoms.

Check you are not loosing coolant.
You should get a garage to read the error code. It should be logged.

In my case I had a defective EGR valve that needed to be replaced.
