Soft door close noise

Hi guys I have a 2013 550i with the soft door close option and it just started making a loud noise after I close the door. The soft close function still works but it sounds like the motor or gears are getting stuck. Has anyone had this problem? I'd like to see if I can get any advice before I replace the actuator assembly. Thanks in advance.

Any update for this thread?

Can someone tell what Fuse I can pull off while I get it fixed? I hear a loud mechanical noise as if some thing is not latching on when soft closing the driver side door.

reviving this thread. Wondering if a solution has been found other than replacing the whole mechanism. I have 3 doors that are noisy after closing. But one that acts like it should. Video links to issue as well as the one that seems to operate as designed:

And the correctly working one:

Looks like Fuse #149...but You may want to check you fuse index to see if F149 controls other things that may be affected if you temporarily pull it.

I'm not really hearing a problem in the activation. All 4 of my doors sound the way yours do in the first vid and no issues. If I shut them a bit firmly they sound like the second video but I don't think you have any issues

The concern is that the motor is working harder than it should and ultimates pushes the door a little further out. It also doesn't seem like a desirable sound from the setup. The rear door (second video) is always short a quick. The rest of the doors have this full motor cycle of pulling in..then pushing the door out..

Did anyone ever find a fix for this -- I had seen the one post to try and re-align the latch, this had no effect for my issue.

I didn't find a fix but I swapped out all the soft close modules when I swapped my interior.

I am betting though it has to be some sort of alignment issue of the latch like another poster here. I never ended up trying to move the bracket on the pillar that the latch closes on. I think that might be the actual solution since I know the car was repainted before I got it so it just may have not been aligned better at the time.
