Is it worth it? PPF and Ceramic Coating

Hi fellow bimmer owners,
I got my 2016 535d alpine white 4 weeks ago.
Is it worth it to install PPF and ceramic coating on it?
Current paint is in great shape.
Planning to keep her for another 4-5 years.
What do you think guys?

Sure regardless how long you planning on keeping the car it will help in long run and will bring brand new shine

I am a bit skeptical. That’s why I need my fellow bimmer
owners thought.
I’ll ask for a quote tomorrow.
Thank you for your insight.
Much appreciated.

I suggest you try amortizing the PPF one time cost on every driving year to come and calulate it if it's the best option for you to go.

Have you taught about doing this yourself
It's easy, you literally apply and wipe off.
You do have to prepare but couple of DIY videos
You can save big $$$

I concur if we are talking about a ceramic coating. The hard part is the paint correction required before you apply the coating, and it's not that hard to do but does require patience and a buffer like the Porter Cable or Flex. The application of the coating is very simple. I applied the Wolfgang Uber Ceramic coating and it was just as you said: apply and wipe off. My coating now has 18 months wear on it, and it still works and shines like new. OP: it is worth it.

PPF, 100% yes!

Ceramic Coating is a rip off IMO.

I do my own detailing and it is not something I like or need.

I have applied it on friends cars before and I wont put it on mine.

One little scratch/swirl mark, imperfection, you still have to do a paint correction and reapply the whole darn thing. To me, it is nothing but a marketing campaign for detailers to intimidate owners and get them applied at huge margins.

It is no different than folks who do a PPF on the full car. My buddy who owns a business makes fun of these people when they ask him to wrap the whole car which he gladly does. But then the question to see if they are planning on driving the whole car through a fence?

Get the front of your car covered with PPF and just take care of the paint.

XPEL. Quote for 2k
For only the front of the car / hood front fenders side mirrors / bumper.

Is this a good price?
Or do I just repaint the front end in 4 yrs?
