Does anyone have any info on what these navigation system updates look like? How is traffic information improved? Where does it get the weather information?
And, the $1000 question, can pre-July 2012 cars be upgraded to the new system--is it just a software change, or is there new hardware? |

Steve Jobs didn't die, he was hired by BMW. I'm disappointed that BMW would use basically the same CCC navigation system since 2004 in the 5 series, switch to CIC in 2009 and then sneak another update in for an auspicious year model. Apple may think this is a good business model, but eventually this leads to consumer fatigue - we are too afraid to buy a thing lest it become obsolete in a few months.
Say what you will, but no one buys a 5 series for practicality's sake. It is also about amenities and image - now I'm hesitant to say i'll definitely shop for another BMW in 3 years when my lease it up. |

Jason I heard (unconfirmed) that the M5 will not get the new mult-display but will get the new NAV. Assuming that is wrong...

The May parts system does say the M5 will get the new CIC and Idrive Screen like the other F10
So I would think they would let the M5 get teh new Nav software aswell. Why load the old software on the new system

Keep them coming Jason!
Doesn't look like the F10 535 is going to get the N55HP 320/340 motor?? Rumor has it that with the new 3 series (4 series) coupe coming out at the end of the year we could see a all new motor being released. Any merits to this? I would be pissed the hell off to buy a 2013 535 and then bmw changes the motor mid way through once the new 3/4 series coupe debuts. Sorta like what they did with the 330 to 335 change and also how the N54 cars starting getting the N55 mid year for the 1 and 3 series. Alan
