Unhappy Getting bored, cheap mod ideas?

I've had my F10 for about a year and a half now, which is the longest I've ever had a car (I know ). I am 20 years old which is definitely on the younger side for an F10 owner, and I have gotten arguably the most boring variant of the 5 series, a pretty base model 2011 535i xDrive. I've dressed it up a little bit but I am sadly starting to get bored with this car.

By now I would be shopping around for another car, but I've decided to hold onto this one for at least a couple more years while I try to buy a home. #Priorities

With that being said, here's what I've done so far and I am welcoming inexpensive mods or improvements to spruce up my car and get me excited about it, especially since I only drive it a handful of times a month.

H&R Sport Springs
20" 666M Reps (ik... sue me )
CF Spoiler
Muffler Delete
K&N CAI & JB4 w/ BT monitor
eBay PU Front Lip
eLine Carbon Geomet Rotors and Pads

Buying a car every year is a sure fire way to never build wealth... enjoy your 20s, but don't be a financial idiot (from a former 20s idiot).

Sport auto shifter, paddle-shifter steering wheel, coding (which is very inexpensive with the BimmerCode APP and OBD adapter)...

No broke boi jokes here. Though i prefer the MSport appearance, I have to say your car is tastefully modded. I'm definitely a fan of making what you have great so keep it up I agree with the previous thoughts on mods tho

We both literally have the same car except mine's not Xdrive. Here's what I love about my car and the build took a few years that way I didn't get bored of it. Tho I'm bored of it right now I am looking to get a facelift for it. However, there's still things you can do. The fact I had to completely start from scratch is what made it thatt more fun. Like Krautmeister suggested MSPORT bumpers. I did mine. Replaced the rear bumper and the side skirts. I kept the front because I love the 3d style spoiler kit for the base model. Than with the MSPORT skirts I added 3d carbon fiber skirt extensions. The MSPORT rear bumper allowed me to run a carbon fiber DTM diffuser along with carbon fiber rear splitters. Than to add to it Meisterschaft quad exhaust with carbon fiber tips. And to finish off the rear a W style roof wing that I wrapped in 5d carbon fiber vinyl.

Keep in mind I was going for a very aggressive look. Not a simple OEM look

The best model to date is my custom steering wheel

I donno how cheap most of those suggestions are. Bumper is going to be close to a grand ebay'ed, installed and painted.

I'd say painted calipers for a splash of color is cheap, and you can DIY. But you can do it right and take your time. You can also wrap your own roof for cheap or pay someone is still relatively cheap.

I guess I wasn't looking at it as cheap but giving options on what else he can do.

I'd say keep it as is for now. Any mod you do won't recoup its value especially if you sell, unless it's a very tasteful cosmetic mod and the hours of labor/away from the car due to the work are intensive and you got it at a good price.

Most guys wouldn't even have a 535 before age 25. I got my first BMW (a 328i) at about 27!

Some fairly inexpensive mods. When I say fairly inexpensive, I mean under $300-400 each and can DIY with relatively little equipment.
- front mount intercooler (lowers IATs, increase longevity of car). If no floor jack, can get rubber floor ramps + boards
- VRSF or ER charge pipe
- double slatted black grills for front
- painting brake calipers if you have 4 floor jacks, some time, some handiwork skills
- black or CF mirror caps

All of the above might make it look better/perform a bit better without blowing a whole load. Good luck!

These are the goals, but doing all of these mods correctly is probably over $2500

Thanks for the advice, when I was shopping I was originally considering M-Sport only but I went with this particular car because with my budget most of the cars had around 60k miles, and this one only had 19k so to me it was a no brainer for a 1 owner clean carfax vehicle.

Everyone knows your build, it's beautiful and I'd love to do something like this but this is easily $4-5k worth of parts and currently that's way more than I am willing to spend to spruce up the look. In some parts of Florida like where I live I could buy a nice house with only around $10k down so I think that would be a much better investment since I already have a pretty nice car.

These are actually great suggestions and I might do both!

Thanks for the kind words, I was ready to get slandered about being a young punk lol. These are all on my watch list to buy, and I actually work for Jaguar Land Rover so I have access to lots of tools and sweet in ground lifts lol
