Transmission Pan and drain and fill, and Differential Service, changed at 120,300, shifts better than ever and the Mechatronic sleeve was not leaking oil. The diff was about 0.9qts, and The Trans Refilled about 5qts or so, very easy to do for RWD!

That reminds me I need to do mines. I have xDrive. It’s not terrible for transmission. It is terrible for transfer case though. Plus I have front diff to deal with as well so it’s double time to do all of that 😓

For the Fill plug on the Trans I used a Prestacycle Bicycle Ratchet, it has an extension that can be also used to increase the handle length if you flip it around, gives you leverage you need to break that darn plug lol, and can also be configured into a t-handle, its saved me in so many situation, even in my work, the extension can be bought seperate so you can have 2 or more, Highly reccomend as it comes with a 8mm bit. It has a decent profile and it can get to many places other ratchets cannot. A good 15-35$ investment, you can never have too many tools ahaha.

Yeaterday i was changing my front brake pads and wear sensor on my 520d, ,as my idrive was showing message about low pads.... even got email and mybmw notification... i thought wear sensor is bad. And changed my pads, my sensor and put old sensor in some drawer, for next time,as it was not damaged. And a could not reset....tried 18273820293 different ways but nothing helps. So, i decided it was the best to grind the old sensor and put it on metal so car detects brake pads, and then just plug in again new sensor and do a reset... and after grinding old sensor, i took off my wheel, and saw broken new wear sensor. 🤦‍♂️😂 it misplaced itself from a clip and when i was putting wheel on, i cutted the wire on splashguard. 🤦‍♂️😂 do now i have error till monday because i have to buy new sensor.😂😂😂 don't mess with old parts if they are good untill you are 100% sure you fitted everything good.😂

CF trunk finally arrived today

Took me 6 hours to install it, tutorial video on YT was just 30 min long … Edges and some parts needed trimming as the fitment wasn’t perfect but in the end it turned out well.

Quick picture, will post some during daylight afterwards

New engine mounts in...

Started to change rear axle parts and also installed new rear tires. Did the easy stuff today. Hopefully next weekend I have time to do subframe bushings and lower arm bushings.

Interior wipe down & vacuum, window cleaning, and started to sand down my calipers to prep for paint. After getting a few powder coat quotes, I've decided to do some G2 custom caliper paint myself. Ordered the Estoril Blue as it's a very near match to the factory caliper blue color. Still pretty bummed that I'm having to do this but it'll be a learning experience for next time!

Yes, halfway through the job I really started think of this tool: https://www.ebay.com/itm/16766184093...101770.m146925

Dropping the rear axle is very easy job, but bushings are hard to get out and hard to push in so it takes some muscle...

You're the first person to describe dropping the rear end as easy, noted!

And that is a VERY cool tool!

I had small clunk noise from front, so I replaced upper shock mounts. First test drive and did not hear noise anymore so hopefully that fixed it.

Well while trying to diagnose the most odd situation I found my rear brakes were wore down on the inside pad and wore uneven on the outside. Whoever did brakes last clearly didnt make sure the pads would slide at all. Took a hammer and prybar to get the pads out.

Still working on the other issue. Im tearing everything apart tonight in hopes to find some sign to get me on the right direction. Issue is when driving hard it is fine, downshift hard is also fine but if im rolling and just ease into the throttle to not really maintain speed but close enough there is this horrible banging popping from the drivetrain. It sounds like a ball peen hammer in the rear. I let it spin on jackstands and no noise, I pull and push on the axles still nothing. I just did the rear guibo a few months back so I know its good. Maybe still an axle but not super obvious. Im so lost rn

Spent a few hours tearing apart everything to try and figure out this freaking noise. Pulled axles, drive shaft, and checked the front drive shaft and everything looks perfect. My passenger rear axle does seem to feel odd so Im going to replace it while its out. If it is still popping and making noise im gonna run her off a cliff

A slight upgrade is the icon meme tool. Similar functionality, but with a flex head.

Quick test setup for android auto to see if it works. And it did so put everything together and ran android auto wires nicely.
