What about the connector to the HK is that the same as of the Top Hifi?
Or swapped you the connector to the existing wires from the Top Hifi?

And what did you do?
Changed the connector?
Replaced the wiring?
Or?

The HK amps had the wire harness attached and enough wire length. I cut the harness from the old amp and put the HK one, all the speakers wires are the same color and was easy to swap.

What route did you choose for the right rear door speaker wire from the H&K?

And how did you get the leather off in one peace.

Hi Koanga! I car is F10 LCI come with basic stereo sound, there is no speakers in rear door panels. I am thinking of upgrading to HK system. Just want to know if the all the wire is already pre-routed? If not pre-routed, what wire do I need to purchase? Can you let me have the part number? As I cannot find the wire harness specifically for audio system with HK option in realoem.com, I suspect that it maybe already pre-wired. Meanwhile, what if I just replace all the speakers/tweeters with HK speaker/tweeters without adding amp and necessary wire harness (if not pre-wired), what could happen?

I purchased regular speaker wire for the rear door panes (you'll need to run wires), and the plug I got it off eBay, not sure about the part number. It's the same wire harness from any car that has logic 7 (e90,e60, etc). Search on eBay for amplifier harness, get one that has some wires length left since you'll need to cut your current wires and solder them on the plug. Nice part is that the wire colors matches.

If you'll end up just replacing all the speakers with tophifi ones (logic7) and swap the amp without adding rear speakers, I guess you'll be ok, but you'll not get the same sound quality.

Thanks for reply! As I have basic sound system came with my car, so I think I do not have any amp in the trunk. Can I just replace all the speakers with HK speakers without adding amp?

By the way, what tool did you use to code the HK system into your car? Thanks!

You have an amp in the trunk, the basic one. Used e-sys to code it. Replacing only the speakers I don't believe you'll feel any improvements.

I see. Thanks! However, I do not have speaker in rear door panel, so are you sure there is AMP in the trunk? As I know, no amp for just stereo speaker system.

Do you have tweeters in the front doors?
Replacing the speakers will improve your sound a bit.

Yes, I added tweeters in A pillars. How about adding speakers and tweeters in the instrument panel as I believe there are no speakers there, and also adding tweeters in the package shelf? It is pretty expensive to replace rear door panels and add amp and run wiring.

If there is no speaker there, there is no wiring also, you have to run all the wires from the boot.
Depends on your colour if you can find some cheap door panels on eBay

Nope he does not have an AMP in the trunk. In the F10 there are 4 sound systems:

1) Basic- 6 speakers no tweeters
2) Hifi- 10 Speakers
3) Logic 7 professional DSP/HK- 16 speakers
4) B&O

In the US you dont get the option 1 (basic). If your front doors do not have tweeters (triangular black section next to the mirrors)...then you have option 1 above and that has no amplifier in the trunk. In this case the amplification is artificially done by the Idrive unit itself.

Changing HK or HiFi 676 speakers with better ones makes also big difference. I have replaced HK speakers with Morel Virtus 402 and made me huge difference.

I have Hifi F11 , but I'm confuse on the numbers, front what I read beside the sound quality improvement from Hifi to H&K its the adicional 4 read doors speakers.

HiFI -
Central - 1 Speaker + 1 Tweeter
Front Doors - 2 Speakers + 2 Tweeters
Under Front Seats - 2 Sub-Woofers
Rear Deck or Roof - 2 speakers + 2 tweeters

12 Speakers

H&K
Same as Hifi plus Read Door - 2 speakers + 2 tweeters

16 Speakers

Hey, did you figure out how to plug the cooling fan to the car? It has a plug connector but I can't find any slot to plug this into? Thanks

It plugs into this connector. Brown wire goes to the ground connector nearby. Red/Green goes to the rear fuse box. It's 5A Fuse 121, pin 10
