N63 Above and Beyond
Looking for above and beyond maintenance people are doing with their N63 powerhouse. Reasons why and what differences you've noticed. Just had mine replaced per Bang V. BMW just hit the first 500mi. and wanting to see what other small or big things people do besides the normal maintenance.

exhaust modes, like straight downpipes to eliminate the cats JB4 but I stay away from that since it effects warranty, I just had my engine replaced fully including turbos, everything and did some mods. Not much needed to do with these 400+ Horsepower monsters |

IN the Facebook BMW page some people have done transfer case and gear box oil changes and they swear its the the best thing they ever did. Think I will do the same as well as front and rear differentials.

Switch oil over to 5W-40 Liqui-Moly on next oil change, Use their Oil saver as well. Figure out how to keep the valves clean without really having to do a walnut blast. Use Eldor Coils and Fresh spark plugs around 50k or 60k miles if you keep it that long. Wrap Coolant lines around turbos in heat reflective tape but they might still fail so keep a watch out for those.

Planning on doing a tranny and gearbox flush here soon. Trying to find a garage that isn't scared of her 😂. The joys of living in rural USA

Spark plugs I would suggest to stick with stock/BMW. For Coils, last time I had checked and BMW was using ELDOR brand(Made in Turkey) but I read here that they've switched to Delphi now, I have not checked, and ELDORs from Ebay were a great price and are working great so far

I just bought my 2010 550 GT in Nov' 19. I did research before I bought it and given relatively low price $8600, I took the risk. While the overall condition is nice, it was burning 1-2 quarts of oil every 2-3 fill ups, started checking into different oil, and after topping off 2 different times with 3 quarts of Royal Purple I have not had to add oil for a month and it is still full. After this experience I will probably stick with the RP.
