Hello All,

Heard my fan running at full speed this morning. Restarted and it was fine. Then on another drive, fan was full speed again. No CEL but figured something isn't right and scanned it.

Came up with 20A804 Coolant pump shutdown due to blockage, in error memory.
Car has 85k miles.

Safe assumption that I will need a water pump?

If the pump, I think I'm going to proceed with ordering the kit.

From the looks of it, seems like I have caught the issue at a better time than worse..

Yup, that's how mine went, it would kick the fans on full speed when the car was cold and keep it as cold as possible, I recommend replacing it with the all-metal unit from Pierburg.

Most pump failures I see are electronic/electric in nature, not failure of the plastics. Is the Pierburg unit actually superior, or just assumed to be because it's all metal?

I’ve learned that the thermostat is in another location on the N55 F13, different than a F10. What a bummer.
