20" Tire Sizes
Ok, my state inspection is coming up so I'm at that point now where I need to decide whether to stick with my 19" OEM rims and get a new set of the horrid run-flats, or to jump ship and get 20" wheels since I have to get all new tires anyway.
I'm trying to see my options for 20" tires but there is literally one all-season tire available on Tire Rack for the recommended size. Are there other 20" tire sizes/staggered combos that have been tested to work without any rubbing or other issues? This is what Tire Rack (and I assume BMW) recommends: Front 245/35-20 Rear 285/30-20 |

Why are you "assuming" what the BMW recommendation is? You can look this info up in your owners manual. It will be listed with the recommended tire pressure info in the owners manual. Using the BMW recommended tire sizes...you may find more than one all season tire offering.
And you may also find other tire offerings if you check some of the other national tire chain stores. Sometimes they offer other brands that the others don't. In that regard I would recommend checking:

I HaVE driven around DC quite a bit and am not sure why you would want 20’s. Just looks? Certainly not for performance, right? I would stick with the 19’s. Even those are a bit too big for a large 4 door sedan.

I live in dc and I’m running 255f and 295r. Performance wise they are much better suited than the 18 inch 245 square. I have more grip, the back end doesn’t slide as quickly or at all and I’m equipped with xdrive. In addition to that speed bumps are easier to go over compared to the 18 setup. Sure the ride is rough at some points but I ran runflats when I got the car and it still doesn’t feel as rough as those.

With the F10 chassis 18" wheels are about perfect but you can go for 19's if they are a lightweight wheel... BMW's OEM wheels are quite heavy.
I don't see why on earth you would need to go for Run-flats again. Just buy regular tires for your current set of wheels, or buy some nice aftermarket 19's instead. |

That's def. always in the back of my mind. I've amazed by the amount of abuse the stock BMW 19s take on DMV roads and yet no cracks or bends.
I don't really have a strong desire to get 20", just an opportunity since I have to get all new tires. With that said, I might just stay my 19s and get them powder coated in gunmetal. Definitely gonna drop the run-flats completely.

20x9 32 and 20x10 35 for rear. No need for spacers because the wheels are out to the fenders and not beyond. It looks crazy when looking at the rear though, aggressive as hell. I have the Beyern Gerade wheels in matte black.

The M6 343M wheels are wider with different offsets: F: 20x9.5 +31 and R: 20x10.5 +19. I'm also trying to run the stock M5 tire set up on the 343Ms: 265/35R20 and 295/30R20. I have M Sport 704 suspension which is 10 mm lower than standard. Any thoughts on if this would work? I think the fronts should be fine but rear might rub under load.
