Yeah just read it, a mechanic...and the other two suspected ones are fine I think. Some mid field teams may be secretly happy that Norris and Sainz are out the way, that's F1.

I also recently read a comment that someone made about the cancelation of the event. Supposedly the Australian health minister has said that if anyone in F1 tests positive for the virus, the race will be called off

I haven't been able to confirm that anywhere yet, so take it with a grain of salt. It's probably a sound decision considering how closely together the F1 community works, but would be extremely disappointing for all F1 fans, especially those that traveled there for the event.

With the NBA coming to a halt, I wonder how many F1 teams pulling out will it take for F1 to step in and stop races. I'd rather races without fans than no race at all.

I can't imagine AUS being called off this close to the race, that'd have some massive backlash.

I have seen a lot of people in AUS protesting asking that it be called off. And here I thought USA was where all the snowflakes lived

Given their form last year, this may very well be one of the only chances they have to score some points. They've improved since last year, but so has everyone else.

Yeah, I'd find it hard to believe they'd call it off at this point as well. I'd imagine the government has a final say. Not sure how they'd determine who would be liable for all the costs though.

And that's assuming the original comment had any merit to it.

It appears that the Australian GP is close to being cancelled/postponed. McLarens decision to pull out of the race being the catalyst for this possibility.

It also looks like Bahrain might be cancelled/postponed as well.

COVID-19 is messing with what we love now! I have a strong feeling Bahrain will be cancelled. Countries around Bahrain stopped flight to and from it.

The interesting thing is that Sky Sports supposedly reported the race is still on. The two reports were contradicting themselves despite the BBC owning Sky Sports.

That being said, I'm seeing more reports that the race is being cancelled.

Worst case scenario : If "we" and the "drivers" survive it...

Looks like the whole thing was a bit of a s**t show. Fans were left waiting at the gates while F1 staff waited until the last minute to make a decision. Very inconsiderate for the fans, not to mention it put them at risk of catching something while waiting (i.e. instead of making the decision earlier and informing the fans not to come to the track).

It also seems some drivers started making their way back home before the official announcement was made, further reinforcing an announcement could have been made earlier.
