2011 535 and 550 pricing for Canada here...
>> FULL CANADIAN PRICING SHEET (PDF)
535i base is $62,300 and 550i is $73300. For all packages on 535 total is right around 75000. On 550 it will be around 87000. There are only a few options listed outside the packages. Pretty aggressive pricing for Canada I would say. If I get my order in by Wednesday I will have end of June/early July Delivery!!!! YAHOO |

How come? I'm not super happy about it, but it is lower than the current models.
The current 535i xDrive models cost $69k, and with the new pricing a 535i xDrive would cost around $65k..And it's comparable to the E350, which doesn't have the efficiency or the performance of the N55 + ZF 8-speed tranny. I'm sure they will continue to offer the automatic as a NC option, so it's pricing is very close to the E350. |

1. Observation/question: In the US pricing, the difference is between $5-6,000 with same options and the option list is similar so I wonder why in $C the difference could be C$12,000? 2. Question: Does 5DL camera package (side and top) show as an option? In US list it shows as SOP Sept 2010 Thanks |

No it is the retail pricing my salesman sent me on the weekend. I am going down to the Vancouver auto show today to see it in person and I will confirm the pricing....

Canadian Pricing looks ok
Looks alright. Can we get ventilated seat option in Canada?
Tech and Exec package for me, with 6sp Man. May spring for rear seat heat just to be nice to my guests in the rear. I don't think the Sport and Dynamic handling packages are worth it. What do others think? How low will they go for a cash offer is the question? I will let you know unless someone beats me to it. Beat me to it please I may wait until the fall or next spring if they are not willing to deal. I prefer going in and being done under 30 min. Either they take it or I leave it. |

Do we know when an x drive version will be available? For 2010, the 535 was only available as an x drive model in canada, but the current pricing seems to be for a rear wheel drive model.
Have the fuel economy numbers been published? |

you can get vented seats with the 550 but not the 530. Also you can't order Oyster/black interior in Canada unless it's the 550 aswell. You can upgrade to Nappa leather on the 535 as a special order but you are then paying 400 for special order and 1700 for Nappa. Silly since it is available on 535 in US.
I did order this week and was only able to negotiate 1800 off which worked out to a little over 2% off. Everything I read suggests the dynamic handling is really worth it but the 4 wheel steer is not. I think the 4 wheel steer is only available on 550 aswell. I ordered the graphite which is like a shiney charcoal colour. for the interior wood I went with the non gloss ash. I am hoping it looks good with the oyster. |

The pricing and fuel economy numbers are on BMW.ca. You can build/price it now. Seems like you can't order the sport package on the 550i in canada yet. Tried to build it that way and couldn't. Also, when you equip the 535i with similar options (executive package etc.) that you get in the base 550i, the spread in price drops from something like $11k to about $5-6k. I'm mostly worried about the fuel going to $1.60+ per litre as this will be at least an 8 year car for me, and we saw those prices a year and a half ago. Not to mention that 2008 535i's and xi's are going for $10 -15k more on the used market than 2008 550i's which cost a ton more to buy new. It tells me that the 535xi might depreciate less. At least in this market where winter seems to be half the year, and fuel is expensive.

Interesting insight into the difference in resale value of the 2008 550 and 2008 535xi....that and the better gas mileage might be enough to sway me to go for a 535xi.

Just to clarify an earlier statment I made the Oyster colour that is available in the Dakota Leather is in fact Oyster/black and not just all Oyster. When I ordered the info the dealer gave me was that in order to get the two tone combo on the 535 you needed to get the nappa leather otherwise the Oyster was all light. This didn't make sense at the time (I even showed him the BMWUK build site where it was available in Dakota.
Anyway as it turns out they were wrong, the Dakota is in fact available with the Oyster/black leather, it's just called Oyster. I will be receiving my Nappa leather Oyster/black (I had already ordered it, the dealer has agreed that I was given wrong info so they are covering most of the cost of the upgrade). |
