New tweets and mids (Morel Hybrids)

Took another step tonight by swapping out the tweeters and mids in the front doors. As you can see, the stock mids are pretty pathetic. I didn't have time to tune them yet (Match PP82DSP) but, so far I'm really impressed with how detailed and clean the highs are. The stock HKs were not bad, but were harsh and fatiguing at times. I went with the Morel Hybrid 402s, recommend by Nick Akin at Musicar NW. I'm looking forward to tuning them and seeing what they really can do. If anyone is looking to upgrade their BMW, I highly recommend giving Nick a call. He knows his stuff.

Are those brackets custom? Looking at the 402 woofer online it looks like the bracket is much larger than your pic.

The speakers were purchased and prepped by Nick.

Very nice. Morel Hybrids are a great set. I've tried them all! Started with Focal ES100K --> Morel Hybrid 402 --> Audiofrog GB10,GB40,GB410C.

Of these, Morel Hybrid is probably the best drop in set for the BMW.

For the Audiofrog set, crossovers are huge and would never fit in the doors. You would also need to modify the tweeter sail panels to fit the AF tweeters as well.

Now I am running a full active system with Sinfoni Tempo speakers and they really can't be beat!

If you still have the old ones I would love to get my hands on them. I am planning on drawing the bolt pattern and flange in CAD so I can 3D print adapters. once the files are done I will release them here or Thingaverse. I really dont want to pull my door apart just to get a measurement then put it all back together again.
