Rear LED Tail Light Failure
So got a warning message a few days back saying rear taillight failure, searched up my model and what bulbs are used. Bought the bulbs and today removed my taillight to find that it’s a sealed unit so it must be LED.
Does the tail light have a fuse and if so where is it located? Is there any way to repair this tail light or do I have to replace the whole unit? Any advice appreciated. |

Did you check if your taillight is actually broken?
I’m asking because I’ve been seeing this message on and off on my car (2015) for almost 3 years, but even when the warning comes up my taillight works just fine… |

Yes it’s definitely broken. The indicator works but the normal and brake lights of the outer section doesn’t work. Unplugged the connector, all looks good, no corrosion or burning. Im thinking it’s the board inside the tail light unit itself. Must be damaged. Light is fully sealed and no cracks etc. is it a common problem? Thanks for your reply

You likely need a new outer tail light. AFAIK it's not possible to repair these. Shop around junk yards or eBay, it should just be a plug and play replacement. Make sure you pick up an LCI unit if your car is LCI or a pre-LCI unit if your car is a pre-LCI model.
