Got the "damage." Just over $2600 for the 3-year oil change, rear brakes (rotors & pads) and the OFHG.
Got a pretty well optioned 330i as a loaner. EVERYTHING is buried in a menu on the touchscreen. I hate touchscreens! I don't care what they say, the fake leather is obviously fake leather. Selecting the automatic zoom on the map doesn't show traffic information; manual zoom needs to be selected. I don't know how it is in the 5, but the 4-banger is rather buzzy. The flat-top & bottom took a bit to get used-to, but after I got used to it, I rather like it. I would consider a 3-series for a replacement for our 535i F10, IF i could get the B58 and real leather. edit: I forgot about the dangerous auto stop/start. I almost got rear-ended when the car just wouldn't go waiting for the engine to start! The engine takes too long to restart. Last edited by ezaircon4jc; 02-14-2026 at 03:14 PM.. |

Noticed a small boost leak last week, chalked it up to the plastic chargepipe. Yesterday the car went into limp mode and turned off all boost. Had my FTP aluminum chargepipe in the trunk so I swapped it in the parking lot at work (total pain in the ass by the way, was not as easy as the tutorials made it seem lol). Didn’t fix the issue tho, still had no boost. Couple hours later, found out that one of the vacuum lines going to the boost solenoid were ripped. Replaced that with a new line and the car seems to be running well (fingers crossed) lol.
Hopefully won’t have any more issues 😅 but hey at least I finished the chargepipe install I’ve been putting off lol |

60k mile service: Oil & filter change, spark plugs, brake flush, coolant flush, transmission filter service (aluminum pan replaced) & rear differential service. Work performed locally at a BMW performance shop, all for around $3k. I also did a light 1-step polish a few weeks ago.

Since I got the esys launcher somewhat working and can do some FDL coding now. I changed fuel consumption range to 30l. Then not relate to FDL coding I VO coded oil change interval from 30tkm/24months to 12tkm/12months and also coded out efficient dynamics. I wanted to change acc default distance to 2 but some how esys only shows "unknowparam" for parameters when I read coding data from ICM and can't change: LDM_Abstandsstufe_init. Tried updating psdzdata but it did not change anything. |
