Desperate in terms of winning his home race, not the season. That was going to be the last corner max would have to defend. Max was going to drive off like the sprint race, his car is quicker in race pace. Like lewis said over radio on Saturday, nothing he can done about it. So yes that corner was the last place for a desperation move. His opponent is at hospital, he over came 10sec penalty and F1 moves on. A lot of defensiveness from hammy fanboys. I am a fan of neither, neutral observer.

Perfect example of why HAM has his detractors. How much more luck can one person get? Punts VER off track, cracks a wheel, race red flagged, gets free wheel & tire change.

Rule change perhaps? Drivers causing a Red Flag don't get free repairs / Can't work on car until the Red Flag is lifted & other cars start the formation lap. Or restart from the pit lane.

I wouldn’t say Hamilton haters, I’m more disappointed that the two championship leaders didn’t get to battle it out today. Max has had two DNFs so far, this is the first that LH took full advantage of.

Sort of a full advantage, Checo did snag the fastest lap and deny MB the extra point.

You Max/RB fans are insane and have quite forgetful/selective memories. Someone even mentioned Eau Rouge being another very dangerous corner, which it obviously is. How many drivers lives did VER put in danger trying to continue up to Eau Rouge with an obviously damaged car with no steering? On the same weekend Anthoine Hubert died in the same area of the track. Since you don't remember any of this stuff Max received NO penalty at all for this idiotic move. A one race ban indeed........... I guess Checo and Lando should of received one race bans as well, especially Checo since he forced LEC off track twice.

Max has also forced HAM to either back off or off track with extremely aggressive moves earlier this year multiple times. Did he (and you guys) really think HAM wasn't going to fight back and just keep taking it? Christian, Marko, Max and RB fans need to grow up.

I really hope he is ok obviously and if he really is the driver you guys say he is (which he does look like) and has the superior car (which also looks obvious) then he will have zero issues extending his current lead. Assuming he does learn from this and picks his spots better. He could've let a charging Lewis go, gathered himself and passed him later. Once he learns to do that, he will truly be a dangerous driver in a good way.

The radio reaction or lack there of I think easily gives you where Ham's mindset is or was. He knows what he did and/or what he had to do. His normal radio whining to a penalty was absent this time. The message to Max has been sent.

Negative . Max was the race leader (P1) in the race .
A F* 7-Time World Champ at his home track with his front wheels at MAX's rear wheels had to choose his moment later and not in the fastest turn of the track !
Dramilton had to wait and NOT MAX , because MAX was leading the race at that moment...

MAX was lucky that his car didn't roll over in the gravel...With 51 G !
Grosejean's impact was 53 G in the fireball ...
Dramilton's fans are toxic for cheering such a crash !
