Indeed he had a good race.

And I also think PER drove a good race.
Of course his weekend was bad because of the sub par qualifying and in the race he ruined his hard tyres after only a few laps because of a massive lockup, effectively having him make an unnecessary pitstop, but he has overtaken quite a few cars.
And half of those cars probably with more powerful mercedes engines.
The Red bull car of course superior to most of those cars but purely because of the rolling chassis, not on engine power.

So a lot of PER overtakes were in corners, virtually impossible deemed by some

Still strange to have such a bad qualifying session and still drive a very strong race.

Worst kept secret. Hahaha

I think it was a move that needed to be done especially for Mercedes. They needed someone to take the one-spot from HAM when he decides to retire and given the age of BOT, it wasn't going to be him. Also with the new changes next season, it's a huge to be able to make this transition with someone like HAM who has the experience who can still carry the team while allowing RUS to learn and eventually take over.

At Mercedes the goal is always drivers and constructor titles, but sometimes it doesn't go that way and you have to sort of reload in a way and now is that time but it will possibly payoff in the future if this all goes right.

Just finished watching yesterday's race, wasn't the most exciting but Max drove a faultless race, MB & Lewis did all they could but on the day it wasn't enough.

Max leading the championship by only 3 points with 8 wins to 4, still very close. Building up to be a close fought Championship, I don't really care which of them takes it although I would like to see some close racing between them, MB & Lewis couldn't take the fight to them in Holland, MB still have some work to do. Bring on Monza....may the man with the fastest car win
