I did my own wrapping, fairly easy, just take your time, no rush or else you'll be buying some more vinyl. Lol.

How much vinyl do you think I should get for my first time?

Do you think I should get magnets? I'm trying to set up an Amazon Wishlist of things for Vinyl wrapping.

If you're doing it by yourself than I would get the magnets. I saw one of the DIY videos and the magnets helped alot for this one guy doing it by himself. I gotta stop watching these videos cause it makes it seem so easy. Do you have the heat gun or you just using a blow dryer?

I'm going to buy a heat gun because it'll be cold when I wrap the car and it's not too expensive to buy. I've been watching videos non stop. Not helping me while I try to study for Organic Chemistry

I'm struggling to find the tools needed. I don't know if I need ten blades or four squeegees or felt tip or 10-23412341234 magnets. There are kits but some seem excessive.

you only need one squeegee but have one of those blades to where you can break them off as you go. post me a link of the kits you're talking about.

Call your local Grimco and see what they have.
Magnets (2-3 will work because you should never do more then 1 panel at a time)
Primer
2 felt squeegee

You need:
Home Depot heat gun, even a cheaper one works
Home Depot small exacto, get a pack with a bunch of extra blades

Plus a tape measure which you probably already have

To elaborate one 1 panel at a time, a lot of guys do a whole side of a car at once, but it does leave enough vinyl to wrap into the door jams a little. Plus it gives you room for error.

But stop thinking about it and do it!!!

Damn you guys! Got me thinking I should do this! It will cost me $300 to paint the rear bumper...probably another $200 to paint the mtech side skirts...$500 bucks! U got me thinking about wrapping piece by piece. I could take off each panel and wrap them in my family room than in my storage. Its winter here so Car won't be driven so I can just wrap each panel as I go?

I've decided to get the tools from metro styling because it'll be free (ish) with the 15% off deal. Also, 1 panel at a time. How would you go about this? I've seen people line up the whole sheet to the side of the car. But should I measure out the pieces and cut them out? Also what is the order of panels I should go? Again, where should I apply the primer? Also, what should I use to clean the surface of the car?

I think you should do it. Metro styling is having 15% off from this Black Friday to Cyber Monday and that can save a lot of money.

Will magnets work? I know some/all of the panels are aluminum.

I believe so. I've seen videos of people wrapping a F10 and use magnets to hold up the wrap

I'll look into it. Taking apart the center dash seems a lot but I will look into it!

Beware if you live in an area with lots rock chips it's better to stay away from vinyl wrap. Unless you're getting PPF on top of it. I'm a certified 3M installer myself and it's a pain to always touch up vinyl wrapped cars. Also use edge prep on the edges because over time the dust gets into the edge and cause the wrap to lift.

What edges? All I found is just wheel wells need primer. Also there'll be little Toņo rock chips luckily so hopefully it'll last a while. Any advice?

Any edges whether it's the Hood or doors is what he's talking about. Good info there. Sometimes just not folding it over will hold.
