F10535i Louder In Eco Mode

Hello,

So I was just curious on this topic. I drive a 535i with the N55 engine. It has a axle back exhaust with resonator delete. I have realized that it is louder in eco mode. I know the revs are kept lower so it may be deeper but I can hear a pretty noticeable difference when I’m sitting in park and switching from comfort to Eco, and cruising around with the same amount of throttle applied/ Off throttle cruising as the sound gets louder and more throaty. I know the exhaust itself doesn’t have any valves but does the engine somehow in Eco mode to where it makes the car louder, and if anyone else has realized this please let me know, I’m all just curious on how everything works. Thanks
