Updating Nav - Car won't read thumb drive
I've copied the 2019 maps to the root of the thumb drive, formatted as FAT32.
2015 535i xDrive I start the car and wait a minute or two and insert the thumb drive into the usb port in the center console compartment. Nothing. Here's a pic of the thumb drive file layout. Did I screw something up? |

Is it going to be a problem if the thumb drive is 64gb and not 32gb?

I waited over 10 minutes, still no reaction to me inserting the thumb drive. I don't know what else to try. |

Once I push start button, the usb is recognized. alternatively you can go to Nav and then try to update it. But I doubt it is recognizing the USB.
Can you try a FAT32 formatter and copy the files again and try it? |

SOLVED: When using a Mac to format your FAT32 MBR partition, be sure to clean out all of the hidden dot files MacOS like to litter the drive with.
Thanks, everyone! Updated from 2015-1 to 2019-1. Took about 30 minutes. |

did it worked ? I asked I guy I know that workes at a BMW dealer and he told me I shouldn't trust what I find on ebay cause the codes are most likely false. could you send me a link with the one you bought if it worked? Since you tested it at least I am sure it's valid. Thank you in advance !

There is no USB port in my glovebox The NAV software says "NEXT" I thought that I was just using the wrong software when I started this venture, but I'm pretty sure its NEXT and I did my research but obviously not enough to make it work Just looked at software version: Screen says: North America BMW Group 112113.2.121 Road Map NORTH AMERICA NEXT 2013 NBT_N16094A New Question, does this system let us update to newest, or is there a map in between 2013 and 2019 that we have to update, to let it update to 2019? The stick needs to be FAT32. Without endorsing wherever this guy got his FSC code, here's a guy with NEXT doing the whole process: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ugCyrRwu9pM |
