N55 Starter Replacement now crank but no start

Bimmer Team, I replaced the factory starter with a non OEM starter, the car will crank has 12.6v but does not start. The car is 2011 F10 with 90k and the message I get is drive train faulty. I have rechecked the connections and work performed yesterday. Austin, TX BMW says service is available 3/4... any help on common mistakes when changing a starter? Also when checking the hidden menu no error codes are present. the car craks but does not start. I was thinking surely there would be an error code.

Why did you replace the starter? Let’s start there.

The hidden menu won't tell you about error codes.
Get the codes read the right way and to from there.

sorry for very latent response ended up taking battery connections off and re-seating all connections to the ECU around the manifold and that was the ticket to success.
