N55 vs N54 internals
Hello everyone, I am currently in the midst of rebuilding a n55 with a spun bearing. I have decided to replace the rods after I found a technical builtin about stretched rods causing spun bearings on the early n55 motors. It makes the most since for my situation, and how it spun. So my question is, can I swap over n54 rods into my n55? I will be running a n55 crank. The aftermarket is much larger for n54 cars so more rods are available. Does anyone know if they share the same design? Thanks

N55 rods have a small formed hole whereas the N54 rods do not. They're slightly different. Refer to the N55 Technical Data manual for more info featured on this website. It shows the differences there.
