I'm shopping for an used 2014-2015 BMW 550 XI and I noticed the VIN number for a car is showing the first record as "Accident reported Airbags not deployed" but with no mileage in South Carolina on 5/17/2015. THe car has a production date of 1/13/2015.


The first owner is showing to be leasing the car and registering it on 09/2015 with 4,136 miles from Paul Miller BMW in NJ.

How is it possible the car is showing an accident as the first entry with no mileage? What happened between 0-4,135 miles...who owned?

Anyone have any thoughts or shed some light or should I run and not look at this car?

Could have been a dealer loaner... Though they usually have low-optioned 4-banger 5-Series'.

Though I have received some nice 5 series loaners.
Could also be fleet, demo or similar, basically still BMW owned.
