Might need to sell my brand new H&R springs soon. I just cant take the ride quality. Anyone interested in purchasing in the NYC area, let me know.

That is low. You should consider ACS springs for NY roads. mild drop but ride quality is better than stock.

Im just affraid I get the ACS and they are too hard also lol. Based on what I see from others, I doubt it. Its basically the front of the H&R that kills me obviously.

Thanks,

Trust me ACS is far from being hard. Everyone that has them loves them including myself. Drop isn't as low as I'd want it to be but still makes the car look way better than stock.

^ agree.

The drop on the front looks really low in that pic, not sure if it's just the angle or if something else is going on there.

Where can I order the ACS from? Also, besides Motorcepts, is there any local shop you can recommend?

If we liked the ride of ACS, but hope it 1/2" higher, can we just add a 12mm thick rubber pad under the lower springs pad? so it will be 1/2" higher, also better for shocks.

You can order the springs through CEC Wheels or Schmiedmann.com

Contact these guys in Brooklyn for install. Ask for Roger (shop owner) and tell him Alan with the grey 535 referred you.

Its not a pretty shop but they know what they are doing. I had my springs installed there so they've worked on the F10 before. You want Alex to work on your car.

Just bought mine from AC Schnitzer USA. They were in stock and shipped out on Friday. Total, including shipping, was about $620:

That was really low in the front. I have Eibach ProKit and they are really great. Doesn't sit as low in the front and rides great. Good blend between sportiness and comfort (what the car should have been like from the factory)

I hated my H&Rs on 20s on my 550i as well -- ride quality is terrible. ACS all the way!!!

ACS springs are supposedly made by Eibach. I am super happy with my Eibach springs if that is any help.

Can't go wrong with ACS. Before I ordered them I did a lot of research and there were even guys that went from H&R to ACS and commented how much better the car rode and handled. Don't think i've one negative review for ACS while most with H&R end up swapping them out. This is a luxury car and making it ride like a 1989 civic hatchback on cheap coilovers sorta defeats its purpose.

Seems like H&R just slap on springs that physically fit the car but don't do any handling/ride quality tests.

^I don't mind the ride on H&R's for my 550i. I've always associated H&R with the younger crowd that likes the car to feel more raw, while Eibach (which I love) are usually a little higher and more forgiving.

I'm going to be doing the Dinan Shockware soon to see if the ride gets better with the H&R springs, or just move to coilovers later on down the line.

I went with H&R because they lowered the car the most, although on your 535 the front seems super low. My buddy has a 535 xdrive with H&R's and it wasn't anywhere near that low. Your front looks a lot like the 550i drop on H&R's, while usually the front is 1/4" to 1/2" higher than the 550i's.

Dave's 535i with H&R springs w/ 20" Forgestar's..

My 550i with H&R' springs with the same wheels/tires.

+1 for Eibach Pro Kit. ACS Springs may source to Eibach for manufacture, but Eibach's ride and ride height seem to be what you are seeking. This photo shows Eibach Pro Kit after six months on-car on 18" OEM wheels

I love My H&R springs. They give you the most aggressive drop without spending coilover money.
The reason why I drive a BMW is to be one with the road these springs help. They bring the car the closest to the ground. The name of the game is center of gravity and these do the best job as far as springs go. Ride quality is superb and the car handles like its on rails.

Will post my hartage shots tomorrow but I love them, the guy at schidnerman had the acs and hartage side by side they look identical I think they are also made by ebiach. Ride is great a little more edge but still feels stock. Hartage drop is 30mm acs is 25mm .18 difference.
