Sun Roof Question
On my 2013 528i, the air deflector that pops up when you open the sun roof is not like the old ones used to be. The design is not a flat edge all the way across to deflect air, but "notched" if that's what you would call it?.....Anyone know why this is?

Air flow management; kind of like a diffuser.

I would say designed to divert most of the air over the car (past the hole in the roof) so the occupants don't get wind-blasted. It also helps keep dust and dirt out of the car (while driving, of course) as well as aerodynamically (though not to a great extent).

I think most of it goes over the car as I don't feel anything at all when I put my hand down close to the roof
