Anyone successfully coded F10 in the UK?
Been looking at all the posting regarding codeing the F10 and wondered if anyone in the UK has been brave enough to do.
Also does anyone know what features can be added via coding for a 'bog' standard 520d SE, for example can you get the dipping wing mirror when reversing with out any of the packages? Finally would anyone who has successfully done the coding be willing to help others, as I am not confident with doing it my self and would appreciate any help. |

re dipping the nearside mirror , I thiought this was standard. the window adjustment button selector needs to be switched to the left (or right can't remember which)
The mirror only dips with the swtich in tat one position, in its otehr position it doesn't dip. Re coding , A fellow fouminite helped me 'dip my toe in the coding water' by setting my rear DRL's to be on. looks pretty straightforward. I'm still downloding the data files for E-eye at present and need to order a cable. If you do a google for F10 cheat sheet, you'll find the pdf that has been created wuth what has been found to date. What you can change depends upon what kit you have installed to some degree. |

I'm also interested in what can be achieved via coding so will watch this thread with interest. |

Gspannu,
Might very well take you up with the help if possible, am due to get a 5 company car shortly, inherited so not of my spec but good enough. Anyway you can tweak it so my 520d feels like the Z4 E86 I have had to sell for my promotion?? If your offer is genuine, my parents live in Winchester, so might be able to combine the two - I'm only in Reading, so can be pretty flexible with timings etc Matt |

Anyway, my offer is 100% genuine. I am happy to code your car. I did code another forum member's (@ap) car last week. I live in Basingstoke and work in Winchester; I'm sure we can work out something convenient - keep me posted when your car arrives.

Xenon - I was joking about making it feel like my E86 I know coding vs mapping. Although if you do think you have the answer please shout! |

The original post is correct, we can only code the cars yet - not remap them. From what I have heard (& read) - the F10 remapping is not yet available (i may be wrong - but all the usual suspects who do remapping do not seem to want to touch the F series yet). Let me know when you get the car and we can figure out what all can be done...

Yes I can confirm there is no safe way to tune the stock ECU on the F10 diesel cars yet.
On the subject of coding - does anyone know if it's possible to enable the DVD/video whilst car is in motion function on the F10 please? |

You can get devices the fool the CiC into thinking the car is stationary which will allow this but I doubt there is a coding option as BMW wouldn't provide an option for such an insanely irresponsible thing to do.

Hi, I'm gettin my 2013 530d M Sport on 31st July. I have the Prof Media Package, but no folding mirrors or comfort access package or bootlid operation.
Is it possible to get folding mirrors and closing of boot using fob thru coding? or does it require sm hardware |

No, the non-folding mirrors do not have the required motors so it's not just coding.

Yes it can, assuming you have motorised boot closing in the first place. I think it's standard now.

Folding Mirrors from Key Fob- this is the default setting in UK cars (no coding required). Boot Closing From Key Fob - this is default setting in UK cars (no coding required). Boot Closing from Driver Button - This can be coded as long as you have SA316 option..

"DVDInMotion - software for unlocking video in motion is available for all BMW cars" - search them on the Internet. Personally I would think its a bit distracting and invalidates your insurance

Buying the 'Video in Motion' DVD is another way to solve the same issue - though a lot more expensive and limited. Some people may however find it simpler - as all you do is insert a DVD and it unlocks the parameters. Going through the coding route - opens up a lot more possibilities...
