Hi all, I have a f10 2014 535i. For some reason I remember that when I got a text and read it on the iDrive, that the name of the contact would appear? Maybe I'm wrong? After a few of the IOS updates, it seems as that the contact name does not appear when I get a text, but only the number does. If someone calls me, I can see the contact name. But not on the texts. Am I wrong, was it never showing the contact names? I tried everything, from deleting the phone and re-program it again and making sure that the contacts are synched. But still nothing. I don't know if it is an IOS thing? I have an iPhone 6S Plus. For some reason I cannot remember correctly if it did or not. Can someone please verify this for me? I don't know if I might have to update the software on the iDrive or not? I'm on the latest IOS.

It may be a ios thing, primarily ios13.

How do you get the texts to read in I drive? Do you have car play? I can only do this when using an Android phone connected via Bluetooth not in IOS.

Make sure Show Notifications is enabled under Bluetooth. Select the circled i next to your car's ID. It will only display texts that are received while the phone is connected via Bluetooth, snap-in adapter or the cable.

Ah thank you didn’t know this will check it when I connect to the car normally by cable for better sound.

Did you guys check notifications on your phones? I noticed when I did an update notifications were turned off.

My iPhone XR works just fine in both (CIC & NBT) our 535's. That is, unless you accidentally turn on airplane mode

Well, my phone "works" fine too, but when I get a text message it only shows the phone number of a sender, not their name. However, if I get an incoming call it does display the name.

In the past it used to also display the name for texts.

Can you post a picture showing senders name (not just number) on a text message on your CIC or NBT?

I'll try and grab a pic the next text I get. Seems once the text is read it disappears.

I actually just updated to 13.3.1 from iOS 12. I have a 12 535 with CIC. Before texts with names worked fine. Now, at first it does not BUT when someone texts and you go back it showed the name. It also doesn't delete messages when the car is turned off like before.

I know people were having issues with bt audio on iOS 13 as well. It seems to be resolved now.

Has anyone been able to resolve this with updates or coding? I've been trying to ignore this issue for a while but it's frustrating and even the dealer couldn't help (so they say).
