Big brake kit vibration issues
Hi f10crews,
I had purchased big brake kit set : ap racing cp9040 with 380MM Rotor and it was installed by one of my friends, and I have been facing the brake vibration issues, as it happens when I was like 60miles and hit brakes, I will feel vibrations on the steering wheel and I feel like the wheels are wobbling, and bad squaking on the right side, and not sure if its my wheels or my brake but when I hit high speed, I also feels vibrations. I am attaching the photos and not sure if the installations are right, can anyone comment on this I am on RHD and this is left passenger side : right hand side : (the one I feel the vibration and squaking sound coming from) much appreciated

Looks like the pad doesn't fit right; too big. It may be an optical illusion, but it looks like the pad is rubbing against the center of the rotor.

Pads do not appear to be hitting the center of the rotors as there is a visible rust stripe along inner edge. It's assumed that you installed the fixed calipers on the front only and the vibration and squeaking is coming from the front wheels.
Usually, vibrations under braking are caused by warped rotors. Have you checked for this? It is normally done with a gauge that measures the deflection of the rotor. Any good garage could do this by removing only the front wheels and spinning the rotors with the gauge attached. Another indication of warped rotors is a pulsing of the brake pedal when braking. Vibrations might also result if the wheel bolts were not tightened in sequence at the correct torque, but warped rotor(s) would be my guess. |
