RRRR!!!!
This is NOT a Recall.
Its a customer care package from BMW USA linked to a Service Bulletin (SIB).
So other countries may not have it yet or may never get it.

I hope they roll it out everywhere.

So I'm guessing information is not synchronized across all the systems. From all my previous experience, a good tech and SA will get you the latest info.
As mentioned before, its not a recall, so wont show up on recall searches.

Your SA should of said its a service action, but they usually dont know much about these things so just call it a recall.

interesting...I live in Canada but have a US car under warranty. I wonder if they'll let me take the loaner to Toronto until the work is done?

This all has me extremely worried, in that the N63 and the S63 engines are "similar" in design. I really hope this doesn't affect the S63 in my 2013 M5 in the future!?....

I think the S63 already incorporated most of the changed hardware.
Remember they are only changing many of the parts on the cars if they are of the outdated version (Index)

Example: Only injectors older than Index 11 will be changed. Ifa car has some index 10 and some Index 11 injectors, only the the index 10 ones will be swapped out.
Same with some of the other parts.

The S63 uses the N63TU timing chain, which I believe is far less likely to "stretch" than the one from the N63.
For the timing chain the dealer runs a test program and the diagnostic system determines if a new chain is requires.

There are also thousands of later production N63TU engines that are not affected by this service action at all, just like I suspect most S63

Just as further note, because this is not a recall but a service action, BMW USA will not be contacting any owners about this.
The responsibility has been left to the dealers themselves to coordinate when and how they contact their clients with affected cars.

you'll receive a letter vs a call from your dealer. bmw is sending the letters in waves vs all at once, so all n63's don't hit the dealers at once for service. if you haven't had any issues, you should be ok to wait for your letter, but if you've had engine malfunction (limp mode), check engine lights, odd sounds, etc, I'd call vs waiting on your letter. I've had most of the issues with my x5 over the last year but zero on my 550

Yep, my engine light has been on this week. Just called about my appointment in the morning....looks like I'm being referred to Enterprise for my loaner. They better have a bad ass american muscle vehicle waiting or else. Not looking to leave my 550i if the option is a Toyota Corolla.

How is this different than the normal loyalty program? Or is it in addition to the normal $1K you get? That would be nice.
