Bootmod3 for N63?
Hey guys, I have a 2012 BMW 550xi. I am going to be getting a chiptune from JR Auto Performance on Monday- But I was being told from a friend I should really look at getting a BM3 Tune as it's practically half the price with an aggressive burble tune. From what I've seen / known, I have yet to see a "Tune" for F10 550's with a burble on it.. As well as on their website they have it for N63TU 550's, but not showing N63. Anyways, I know that N63TU is "majority" of 2013 and up but in terms of tuning would I be able to use their N63TU Tune for my N63?

Short Answer: NO
Long Answer : No tunes available for N63 except Dinan, or Serg's or badblacks. Others claim to be in development but no ETA on when they actually plan to release to market. |

we put real world numbers at the track, our car right now is running tune /downpipe only 12 secs @ 119MPH in florida heat can't beat that. I also continuously work on developing this platform.

Mission Performance has tuning available for the N63 Non-TU as well now. It may not be reflected on the website, you can contact them directly.

Would love to but what does you Tune offer besides peak HP. I'm seeking overall power throughout the Powerband Curve and positive fuel trimming (Lean).
And is your power rated in Crank or Wheel Horsepower. And why is the numbers so underpar compared to others from a peak power gain perspective? |

"For example. All the tunes out there piggyback or flash for the F10 / N55 have all claimed peak numbers, but only peak numbers and nothing that held across redline. So if my goal was to peak at 350whp, but at 5000 rpm I started dropping and by 6000 rpm I was flat-on-my-face with 200whp, the fun in that tune is short lived. Currently on the new tune I am hitting 345whp at 5100 Rpm and 310whp at 7k rpm! This is a big deal and here's why. Previously I was making 345/500. It was 345whp at 3100rpm and 200whp at 6500 rpm with torque steadily holding but no extra power being made, something was amiss. Now with 100 ft lbs less torque, I am making the same power and holding power across to redline. A 345/400 car that holds to redline is a much more powerful car then a car at 200whp / 6500 rpm for obvious reasons. When another 535 is shifting around 5500 rpm with an available 200whp, I'm still making over 310whp to 7k rpm and then I shift. Now thats a high reving BMW and on par with e90 M3 performance. Peak boost is 19 psi and holds 13psi to redline. That the secret sauce." Do you understand my question more clearly now that I presented you with an example of powerband curve? |

Check these guys out. There are a few threads on them. I already purchased it, but did not send in my DME in yet. Was waiting for them to be able to remote tune via OBDii, but taking too long for that.

Thanks for the replies guy. I decided to go with JR Performance Auto. I'm sending my DME in Tomorrow, will pickup the car on Friday. They are adding their burble tune as well, and I am deleting the cats off my OEM Downpipes. Will do a review for you guys if you are interested, and will do some 1/4 Mile runs

Valve stem seals, injectors, spark plugs, are all going.... will need to repair before I can do a run because keeps going into limp mode. Unfortunately I am busy with my R35 Project so wouldn't be done for a few months. Here's an audio clip

ACTIVE AUTOWERKE Also have different types of tunes available for this platform (N63) I also had a hard time trying to find a GOOD tuner that know BMW’s. One of my cars currently at their shop getting some work done for logging and then hopefully re-tuning to push for new limits. Just wanted to share
