Burger Tune Risk..?
Do you think the Burger Stage 1 N55 tune is worth the risk of voiding the warranty?
and does anyone know of any problems that have come up because of it? thanks |

i ran the jb+ and jb4 on my previous e90 and I had no problems but I took the tune off every time I went in for service. Other than that no major problems after 40k miles.

I've just installed this tune the other day and it's a night and day difference w power and boost. However I'm nervous about beating on the car more now and suffering the consequences if something fails being the car is still under warranty. But then again likein this thread and many other posts people have run it for lots of miles w o issues. Keeping my fingers x'd

Remember the CAN TOOL doesn't work for F10.

I don't know. I'd like to find out the answer as I'd love to get this tune (would have loved the JB4 but they have abonded it for the F10).

I also have this piggyback tune.
There is no CAN TOOL, but there is a USB cable that you can get to change the boost and some other parameters in the software. From what I know this will not affect the ECU in the car, since it is a Piggyback. All you are doing is changing the software in the kit/module. I had adjust the boost to 4.75+ and was gonna reduce it to 0.00 before taking it in for my 16,000 mile service. But I forgot. The dealer did not say anything. So I guess it is ok. |

The USB cable is used to connect the Burger tuning module to your laptop. There is a program that you can download onto the laptop to do the adjustment. There is a thread on the forum that shows the download link and the instruction on how to do the adjustment and data logging. |

apologies, didn't know you couldn't delete tuner codes etc, on the website they do offer it though. I emailed Terry a couple weeks ago inquiring about a stage 3 jb4 type tune and nothing is currently in the works for that =( Anyone that has driven a E90 with the N54 motor with the JB4 knows what a beast it can be. The N55 along with the weight of the F10 is a slug when I compare it to my previous E90. It would be nice to get the F10 535 in the low 12's.

I know I'm not a subject matter expert on this platform... But since the 535 and X5 n55 share the same parts here's what I can tell you... The JB3 will leave codes, and although the CANTOOL doesn't work on the X5 or 535, you can use the Bavarian Technic's tool... Yes It doesn't specifically support the 535 and X5, but you can still read and clear codes (both shadow and regular). I've used the JB3 since it came out (being the first X5 to use it) and have gone in for service after removing it and clearing codes with the BT tool..

Enthusiast... The VIN isn't what isn't supported, the platform... For the X5 I've used either the 335xi or X6 as my starting platform and gone from their... I've even been able to adjust my oil service due date so I could get an oil change done sooner than later ( i had a 1k mile trip and I wanted to get the oil changed before hand, so I changed the due date with no ill effects, BMW changed the oil and that was that, all under warranty).

It's truly a shame that BMW doesn't offer the PPK to the 535 and X5 crowd, because you could relatively safely stack the JB3 on top of the PPK tune, or maybe even the Dinan tune, but what I find weird is that the DINAN is available for the X5 but not the 535, is the programming of the 535 even more different than that of the X5?
