I'm thinking about getting new rims. Do I buy new rims and tires, which then will be ran only for a summer set and run my current ones for winter or do I just buy the rims and run them yearly and sell the others? What's your opinion?

If you have the money a winter and a summer set is best.
I just had a tire get popped and always wanted 20" unfortunately rims are an aesthetic thing so I could never bring myself to do it. But because I would need 4 new tires it made sense to purchase rims now (if I was ever going to do it, it was at tire replacement). If this would have been at the beginning of summer it would have been nice. I would have bought summer tires and the new rims. Then before winter put winter tires on my old rims. But of course winter is coming and I couldn't justify buying 8 tires (summer and winter set) and rims. So I bought all seasons to put on my new rims. But your current set of tires is at least good, so if it was me, I would be buying rims and summer tires. Then use the current set for winter, and when those go eventually put real winter tires on. |
