My 2012 BMW 535i has a stage 1 tune on it but IÂ’m not sure what type since I bought it with a stage 1 tune and the guy wasnÂ’t clear on what it was all he told me was that he had a shop did a custom tune for him but others told me that BMW IsnÂ’t an open source and it needs to be a MHD,JB4,BM3,ex. I want to put a MHD Tune on my car and IÂ’m not sure how to do it without messing up my ECU I contacted MHD to ask a a few questions they told me that the MHD tune will over right the existing tune, I want to know if this is true and if it can damage the ECU and if itÂ’ll work. Thank you

You can flash right over it, yes. It flashes the entire DME if MHD is not already loaded onto the DME.
