Has anyone had any experience installing a wrap on interior trim? I am looking at doing a Carbon Fiber Wrap on interior trim on my 550I F10. Not sure how much wrap I'll need, what the best wrap to get and how difficult the process is. Any tips/recommendations would be very helpful, thanks!!

You can remove the trim pieces on the door and dashboard easily, and the shape of the pieces themselve are not that complex either.

The center console trim can be removed as well, now requires a torx screwdriver tho (video here). Remove all the buttons and everything for easier installation of the vinyl.

With everything out of the car it is much easier to wrap the trim. You will probably be fine with 2m of vinyl (assuming 1,5m width). As always make sure to buy quality product like 3M, Avery etc. The chinese stuff is crap, I made that mistake and was a waste of money.

Installation isn't too hard, make sure to get a squeegee with felt and a sharp cutting knife, I found a cotton glove to be useful as well. Cut pieces of vinyl with an inch of overhang on every side and just put it roughly on the cleaned trim, don't worry about wrinkles and creases, those can be removed later. From one side to the other, warm up a part of the vinyl with a heat gun for a couple seconds and press it into the creases and around the edges with the squeegee. In the end, carefully cut the overhangs.

2x5 Should. I really love the Vvivid brand get the air release technology one it helps a lot when smoothing it out.

I'm in the process of doing mine. I have the center console and right side of the dash left. It's not perfect and I will have to redo some parts, but it's my first time.

I'm using 3M 1080 CF12 and I'm finding it pretty easy to lay.

That looks good! Does the little silver part of the trim come off before you install the carbon?

No, you just use a knife to cut carefully along that piece. I purchased a kit on amazon that brought the knife, squeegee, and a tool for tucking in the vinyl into small places. It was only $10. If I were doing a lot more cutting, I would recommend a better knife though. It gets dull pretty quickly.

If you're worried about scratching it, you can mask it off with painters tape in case the blade slips out of the gap. Just take your time and you shouldn't have an issue.

I didn't really tuck into the silver trim. You wrap over it and just pass over with your fingers. Next, just take a sharp blade and cut along the gap. After you've done all that, post heat and pass your finger again.
