What brakes are you guys running?

I'm due for a front brake replacement soon, was wondering if I should get OEM or some aftermarket brakes, looking for ideas on what I should run on my 16 528i x drive

actually been watching a lot of Youtube videos on this because my car is modified i wanted some nice rotors to go along with my wheels. so i looked into the cross drilled/slotted rotors. however after researching i'm better off using OEM rotors again or maybe slotted versions after watching this?

Working better than stock, and I think I have them on the car for about a year now. Running same kind of brakes on g35 for 2 years now without issues.

Unless you're tracking you're car the stock rotors are just fine. If you're looking for looks then I would go with slotted. They will help on the occasions when you push the system and not hurt normal performance. The only downside is a slight increase in pad wear.

With your setup, slotted would look KILLER!!!!!!

Do all 535's have the brake sensors that are in that link?

Yup. It is a service item... But if your sensor still good you can use the OEM one. That is what I did. I want to pair these rotors with akebono pads next time just because of how much dust the ones come with the kit produce. But I really needed new rotors and you can't beat the price. Also, gone through Chicago winter without any rust as they are zinc coated. My 535i is also 2011.

Nope zero issues, my BMW mechanic was shocked when he was working on my g35 and saw the rotors were in excellent condition after 2 years.

ran cross drilled\slotted rotors on my turbo charged Integra back in the days and i'm currently running them on my lifted Nissan Titan. so aesthetics wise they're pretty af and that's why i did it. for the Integra before i turbo charged it i did alot of mountain runs and with the stock rotors they would turn freakin red red which caused my brake pads to glaze over. so i upgraded to cross drilled\slotted which was really a big thing in the mid 90's. performed much better as i was no longer getting the red glowing rotors any more. still hot tho but nothing like before.

as for the truck braking distance seems the same even tho it got heavier from the big lift install and running larger 35's mud tires? tho i don't know if the upgraded stainless steel lines have a part in it?

what i pretty much keep an eye on is any warping or cracking really and any type of scoring or grooving on the rotors. but for the BMW cause it's a BMW i'm a bit hesitant on that and i don't know why that is? maybe cause it's an expensive car with expensive repairs?

I saw videos about that issue specially the cracking and that is what I really look for and haven't seen anything like that yet. I will take pictures and post soon.

Did you do the change yourself or have your mechanic do it? What about the rear electronic brake?
