Stainless Steel Brake Lines

Can anyone give any recommendations or links to what they are running?

I have noticed my pedal get soft after some serious breaking and I'd like to firm it up a bit.

i have steel brake lines on my lifted truck but that's only because with the lift the brake lines need to be replaced with longer one's which happens to be stainless steel.

my brake pedal on my truck was getting soft recently so i changed the front pads last
Weekend and let me tell you the brake pedal feels much tighter now. are you sure you're not due for a brake change? again, watching this engineer and his videos he's got a pretty good Youtube review on rubber vs stainless steel brake lines

i've had a lot of time on my hands watching videos this week lol

She cracks me up AND does good work. Her Audi TT gave (is giving as I don't think she's done) her some challenges.

Well, buy them and then let me know how your brake pedal feels!

depending on the age and condition of your lines they can make a nice difference. Not night and day by any means, but enough to notice it and like it. I did it on my old E46 (at the time I did it, the car was maybe 10yo). Brakes bit higher up on the pedal and felt more linear. If you car were only 2yrs old I doubt you'd feel any difference though since the rubber would be quite resilient still. I'd recommend it for any F10 honestly though. It's on my list but honestly not at the top lol.

But before going into the lines, as lsturbointeg stated, check the condition of your brakes front and back. A lot of times the mushy feeling is just because they're worn down.

Also, peek at the condition of your brake fluid. If your brake fluid is black you have high amounts of dirt and water contamination. This WILL cause a mushy pedal and more alarming- a much lower boiling point. You want this fluid to be clean and clear. I remember my old Audi recommended it be flushed every 2 years. Not sure on BMW's interval but it should be about the same.

Brake fluid change is recommended every 2 years. I thought that was across all cars? At least for my Hondas it was 2 years as well

Yes... since brake fluid is hygroscopic.

These are the steel braided lines I have on mine:
https://www.carid.com/goodridge/g-st...leid=164901363

No problems installing but I haven't tested the brake fade limits since swapping to these. The brake feel did feel more firm.

While I don't need SS lines, Goodridge is a very good brand and the price seems great. I believe the brand is well known is Europe.
