one thing i might mention (because i don't know of your lenses) try sampling a few different aperture settings from F11 all the way up to 20. at 20 you may be losing image quality again. A lot of people believe that from about F8 to about F16 tends to be the best on lenses. So you may even improve your results. You just have to learn each lens individually.

Besides, depending how patient you are, you'll drop your wait time down, or even brighten the picture more, depending what you're after

But they look really good, i love the reflection you grabbed in the water!
Believe it or not, I actually did do that this time around. I have a ton of similar pictures ranging from ~f/5 through f/20. If I get some time, I'll post a few up to show the differences. But right now, I'm going to get 18 in before the wife gets back

As for my lenses...I'm just using the basics 18-55mm and a 55-200mm. Most of these were the 55-200 due to the distance.

Haven't seen a lot of night + car photography on here. Here's one of my car a couple years ago.

In case you're wondering:
2 Nikon SB-26's positioned at the headlights - 1/2 Power
1 Nikon SB-28 positioned at the rear quarter panel - 1/2 Power
All strobes fired with Elinchrom Skyports.

This is the first time I've strobed a car. I think it came out pretty well.

I think a few points bright on the rear quarter panel and clone out that airplane contrail.
Placement of the car looks real good and nothing really distracting, overall a really good sunset, car picture.

Stop drooling, we'd only get about 3 maybe 4 blocks out of them, tops.

Seriously. I scraped the chin this week on a normal road. Big dip right beside a big bump. Was enough to drop the chin to the ground. And my wheels and suspension are stock.
