new gt owner question

hi all after many years of e60 ive taken delivery of a 530 d gt and its massive compared to the e60 but so much comfort and toys as standard, however ive just one question i carnt figure out for the life of me,, when ignition is turned off how do i get the nav screen and dash lights to shut down straight away instead of when i get out and lock the car ??

Push to start stop button a second time or lock the doors once you are outside. This works in our 2013.

Without the foot on the brake, press the start/stop button for the second time. If you have your foot on the brake, the engine will start again.

And the reverse is true, hit the button without your foot on the brake and only the dashboard comes to life.

They will eventually shut off on their own, takes about 10-minutes or so.

All of the electronics in the modern cars, and the fact the GT doesn't run the alternator all of the time means, for some users, it's a really good idea to put a maintenance charger on it if it isn't going to be used frequently. While the AGM battery is big, and can handle deeper discharge than a typical car battery, it still can give you issues if it can't get a full charge while you're out. There's a few threads on this, and you might want to read them.

Wow this is a usefull tip, my new (to me) 535d arrives tomorrow and i did less that 4000 miles between MOTs last year.

best look at a battery charger
