Connected drive and maps update in Cyprus
Hi all,
I bought a used BMW F10 2016. So I suppose I am a happy owner now This is my first BMW and I have questions. The car was originally manufactured for UK market and then brought to Cyprus. It has so called “navigation system professional” (S0609), “connected drive services” (S06AK) and “real-time traffic information” (S06AM). And now I need some help with navigation maps update. Version which I have now is “Road Map Europe Next 2016-2”. I am curious if it is possible to buy updates officially from BMW, at least I don’t see any option in my personal account page at bmw.com.cy. Is that ok for BMW? I also see that there are some offers to update maps at bimmerupdates.com or bmsatnavupdates.co. Is there any difference and how legal is it? Are there chances that I would lose new maps after any SW update? And I also assume that BMW connected services requires some kind of subscription in order to get real time traffic information. But I also failed to find any way to subscribe. Any explanation regarding how these things work is appreciated. I just want to have original maps with traffic jams info. |

ConnectedDrive and RTTI do require a subscription. I don't know how it is in Europe, but those services utilized 3G, which was decommissioned here in the US earlier this year. BMW offered to upgrade SOME 2016's; contact your dealer for information. |
