worked on the oil catch can this morning. assembled the bracket to the bracket of the oil catch can

looks pretty good so far

wasn't sure if i needed plumbers tape for the threads but found the supplied bag with o-rings

so crazy part is when i disconnected the PVC the plastic tubing just cracked and was very brittle!

for those wondering here's what it looks like after the oem PVC tubing is removed

the 1/2" tubing that came with the kit was not gonna work with the BMW so i went to the Autoparts store and picked up 3/4" tubing.

Here's where i left off at. space is super tight where the two tubes come together by. no other way to do this since the OEM tube was probably only 6" long...maybe 5"? the inlet tube is secured but the outlet tube is just mocked up as i'm gonna have to run this across the top where the injectors are and under the intake pipe and around back towards the windshield reservoir. this tubing is not very bendable so i'm having to run the lines out further than back if that makes sense

will continue tomorrow morning and i'll take some more snap shots

yup from Amazon! it did not come with the mounting bracket so i used an angle bracket i picked up from Home Depot. you will also need to buy new tubing as the one that comes in the kit doesn't fit

the L bracket kinda looks like this. picked it up in he Hardware section. i had black paint already as well as the clear coat to paint the bracket. you will need to drill new holes to where you are mounting to the car and 2 holes for the mounting bracket
https://www.homedepot.com/p/Everbilt...-202034301-_-N

the hose they have on a reel. $1.99 per foot. i got 6'

OK brother here comes the 1st of what I hope aren't too many questions...

Did you force the hose over the "top" connection (valve cover) or attach the hose to the original connection?

Looks like the top he forced it in and the bottom he used the original connection

I first used the connection but because there was no way to get the lower hose on I ended up not using the top connection. Should be fine since it's just a plastic connector with no sensor on it. Tried and tried first but no way can you get both hoses to separate without them kinking. I may try to 90° plastic elbow you mentioned. I'll take a picture of what I mean. Have you done this bro?

This sitting around the house has turned me into a professional couch potato!!

How did you manage to get that 3/4" hose over the 1" nipple? I've been looking for a 1" to 3/4" hose for that purpose. I found a silicone hose but the manufacturer says it's not for oil use. They said it "could" be used for an oil catch can, but it won't last long.

okay Mr Potato Head! i ended up changing the whole thing lol! and yes, to answer your question the hose had enough flex to get it over the 1" nipple! so after taking a step back i removed everything to see how else i could do this. here's what i was talking about if i reused the valve cover connection that there's no room

see how it's right in front of it? you could only bend the tubing so much before you felt like the connector was gonna snap. it's only plastic.

here's a close up with the tubes up against each other. probably would be fine?

so here's what i ended up doing. took the tubing that came with the kit and it fit right inside the connector. so i did this to both connectors! than used electrical tape to keep them from coming out.

here it is back in place and there's no kinking at all which turned out great!

here's how i ran the tubing

and before anyone ask...yes the engine cover still fits!

plenty of room to remove the cup if it needs to be emptied!

so there you have it! on to the next project!

You have solved my problem!! What size is tubing? How about heat-shrink instead of electrical tape? Or maybe that cloth tape used for wiring?

i just used electrical tape as BMW also used electrical tape for those connections. i suppose if you have the right size heat-shrink you could. i'm guessing it's 1/2" tubing since the one i bought was 3/4"
