Reminded me of Irvine unlapping himself from Senna at Suzuka and Senna throwing a fist at Irvine after the race because he had the audacity to unlap himself. Although in that case Senna won the race (but got a suspended two race ban).

That was unreal. I've been watching F1 for a long time, and cannot remember the last time a back marker took out the leader. Maybe Coulthard on Schuey at Spa all those years ago?

Not that I condone some violent interactions between drivers, but I would do the same or similar if I'm in Max's shoes.
What's the point of "unlapping" himself? It's not like Ocon can pull away fast enough not to get another blue flag by Turn 4. He has the right to do it, but doesn't mean he should "fight" Max to unlap himself.

In hindsight, I sorta agree with Hamilton, when Max has the most to lose. Next time he can play a bit more cautious and let those amateurs make their statement.

I saw that clip, and here is my take on it.

Max didn't had to leave him space, but taken his position in the race into consideration, it was probably the right thing to do.

Max is a brilliant driver, but he lacks a lot ito maturity and being level headed.

He will soon learn though, that without those traits, becoming a world champion will be impossible. He actually reminds me a lot of Montoya.

See my post above. Things like these deminish him in my eyes as a worthy champion. He must just be careful, not all drivers will be as calm as Ocon. Think particularlyof people like Perez, Magnusson etc, they will certainly push back.

Or if Ocon's front tire was being tracked by the inner curb he may have just been hugging the turn.

Also at this point of the season with titles decided, back markers tend to run a little harder to gauge themselves and car for the future.

The picture above shows that Ocon's tire was not on the curb.

In no way do I support Ocon, I think he was the idiot here. But he wasn't turning into Max as evident by the onboard.



There's fault on both sides in that Max could have avoided this, although he had a right to that corner given his position.

Seems stupid that Ocon would risk both drivers' races fighting for 15th place.
