He started with BMW in 2007 in US GP....where he scored points in his first race...

This reminds me.

How do you punch a NASCAR fan and get away with it?

After you hit him, just run to the right.

Now for my list:

1) Button
2) Vettel
3) Alonso
4) Buemi
5) Sutil

I disagree. Button has proven to be a great driver. Look @ what he has done with that POS Honda-F1-mobile over the last few seasons. Plus he was great enough back in 2000 to be plucked by Williams to fill their F1 seat, after only competing in 36 races in cars prior to that moment.

/rant

This list brings something that is a bit off topic, but somewhat related to the subject here. Often I have heard folks in the past (not here, other places) say stuff like "Scott Speed sucks" "Hamilton is a crappy driver" "De La Rossa couldn't drive if his life depended on it" ... This kind of talk just drives me up a wall. None of the current crop of F1 drivers suck. All of them are incredible talented drivers. You can't make it to F1 by being a crappy driver. Fewer people have driven an F1 car in competition than have been launched into space. it's a very select club, and you have to be good at what you do to gain membership. Although the pay drivers of the past were for sure an exception to this. Yeah that's right Ricardo Rosset, I am talking ABOUT YOU!!!!

Jarno Trulli was recently quoted as saying that he thinks all the drivers are about half a second away from each other, if they were all in the same car. If he feels that way, I would be inclined to agree with him. He does have quite a lot of experience in his field, ya know.

Fastest driver today is Kimi. No R&D, just shows up to the track and races flat out. Doesn't matter if he's car is working or not. He's 10/10's all the time. Sounds like that brazilian guy Senna.

True that....unfortunate he kept overshadowed by other drivers like Schumi, Alonso, etc etc at that moment....

I agree with Truilli. If everybody had the same exact car, everbody would be within half a second from each other. Therefore, its 90% car and 10% driver for the sucess of the team.

Everyone agrees that the two greatest drivers of all time are Senna and Shumi
(no point getting into the debate of which one is THE greatest of all time, since that would be like asking leather or Leatherette around here)

My question is do you guys think that any of the current drivers is of the same caliber of either Senna or Shumi? Especially now that the cars are so much more complex and the drivers have a lot more to do in the cockpit (brake bias, movable wings, Kers etc..)
