All the above edits are in HU_NBT. Some of these may already be set to the values I have listed, but double check.

This should disable all Handbrake related limitations; including allowing adding a bluetooth device while driving, etc..

There is an additional one you may want to play with:
PIM_DRIVING_TEXT_LENGTH. Default value is one_page, change this to whole_text.
This will allow you to read full emails/texts rather than just 1 page while driving.

Hope it is helpful...
Legend!! once again you have come through!!!

Didn't do the PIM_DRIVING_TEXT_LENGTH as I believe that is for EBT, which I will wait for you to do when we meet up one day. I haven't figured out how to do that myself as yet.

Soon, hopefully soon...

Now that we have a solution to the trimmed CAFD files problem; I'm looking to do another FREE coding session for all us enthusiasts out there !

Yes, this one really bothered me for quite a while.

There is also the other one of enabling blinkers/indicators in the Head Up Display. This used to be codable in the very early F10s (way before LCI came around), but it has never worked since then. I must have spent over 50 hours (spread across many days and many preciosu evenings/ weekends) trying to get this to work - but no success.

I am researching into injecting data into existing modules to see if certain features can be added on - quite a risky process, but let's see.

Im in!!!

Just coded turn off power when door opens, as pressing the button twice, was annoying the hell out of me. My E60 even managed that without any problems.

Even the Mrs Evoque, turns power off when you hit the start stop button and unclip your seat belt.

So far coding wise I have managed to:

-start stop memory
-turn of DRLs
-playback via USB
-DVD in motion
-power off when door opens.

I think I read somewhere through the many forums and threads that there is away to turn up the ambient lights. Has this been done successfully, on an LCi F10, as I have not found anything conclusive.

Thanks to all who have contributedand continue to do so!!!

Ambient lights. Yes Can be done. Not exactly turn it up, but the end result is what one expects.

My guess to your issue (I may be wrong!)
The problem you are having is that if you turn up the ambient lighting to full (by using the knurled knob next to headlight switch), this also turns up the instrument cluster lighting and that is very distractingly bright.
What you want is probably the ambient lights on max (or close to max), but the instrument cluster lights around the low-medium level.

This can be achieved via coding by restricting the ambient lights to not go below a certain level even when you turn the knob. Which means that you can set the minimum ambient light brightness (to say 80%) and still be able to use the knob to control your instrument lighting. The ambient lights will not turn any dimmer than 80% (even with the low knob position), but can be made brighter to 100% by turning the knob.
You can code any value for the minimum brightness, I have set mine to 80% (I think !)

Apologies, if I have misunderstood your requirement...

I got my cable off Ebay, and one of the gurus PM'd the links to the software.

I'm going to need to check now, as I think my knurled knob is turned full and the idrive setting is full, and yet, it looks dim still, I'll go have a look

Here is the coding...

Module > FRM > 3045 COLOR_SWITCH > CS_AMB_MIN_BRIGHTNESS
Default value is x0A.
I have set mine to x50 (or 80%). You can try with various values and figure out what suits you best.

Done!! Thanks, however can these lights be made brighter? I still feel the lights in the door panels are a bit dim, my mates 335 has it, and just feels so much brighter

Nope. The lights can only be as bright as they are. I have a 3 series coupe as well and its ambient lighting is brighter than my 535, but to be honest I don't think I actually miss the brightness.

On a short drive, the lights may seem not too bright, but if you drive in the dark for longer than an hour or so, even the 80% seems too bright and distracting, I might set mine max brightness to 70%. In city driving with enough street lighting and on shorter drives, it may appear dim - I guess I am happy with it as is.

Haven't fixed the dates yet, but hopefully soon. Also depends on how many people are interested?

Apologies, but the meet location will be Basingstoke (RG24 9)- as that is where I am based.

No need to apologise and thanks for coming back.

I was wondering. Do you know how to code comfort seats to an M Sport?

Did not understand your question? What do you mean by coding comfort seats to MSport?
What seats do you have? And what are you looking to code?

I've been enquiring in the X3 area about coding. Are you able to do the F25 (2012)?

I've put a deposit on one, but haven't picked it up yet. I would like the boot doing and the auto stop start.

Thanks

Yes, F25 can be coded.

- Auto Start Stop: I presume you mean that you either want the ASS feature disabled on car start, or remember last value - rather than ASS always being activated on each restart of the car.

- Boot doing: What do you mean? Please elaborate.

Thanks.

Yes, the ASS set to remember last value.

Sorry - 'boot doing' enable the power boot to be opened and closed from the switch and key.

I'd be open to suggestions on other useful features? I'm not really very technical so anything like this with a laptop is quite beyond me
